All light therapy products are sent by courier on a standard service (delivery within three working days). We'll email to let you know when it's on the way and include tracking information. Small items like bulbs are sent using Royal Mail First Class post.
If we receive your order during office hours it will usually be dispatched the same day,maybe the next working day if we're busy, so please allow four working days for your order to arrive.

Returns and our 30-day Home Trial
Our 30-day Home Trial gives you the chance to try Brightspark for yourself and make sure that it's right for you. This is one of the big advantages of buying direct from Lumie.
- 30-day Home Trial is available in the UK only.
- If at any time up to 30 days from the date of delivery you decide to return something, please contact us first.
- If a unit is returned scratched or damaged we will tell you what the problem is and may have to charge for any repair at a cost of £20/hour plus materials. We will not charge for minor problems.
- The unit should be returned in its original packing if possible.
- This does not affect your statutory rights.
Most people notice an improvement in their symptoms after just a few days, so please give us a call if you feel that Brightspark isn't having an effect and we'll try to help.If you decide to return your light, we will arrange to have it collected (mainland only). As soon as we receive it we will refund all your money.We do not refund express delivery charges.
Cancellation
By law, you also have a 'cooling-off' period, the right to cancel any purchase and receive a full refund by e-mailing or writing to us up to seven working days the day after you receive it. To return any item, please send it securely - the original packaging is best if you have it - to our usual address. Please note that you will be responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us.

Great Light - Better shape than the "full on " ones -easy to move around the house!

I thought I'd give this light box a try as I've suffered from SAD in the past and was dreading another winter. I have it on my desk and put it on in the morning when I'm dealing with my emails. I then top up during the day if I'm in. I've really noticed the difference - I have much more energy throughout the day, am more able to get on with things, and feel generally more positive. I would really encourage people to try it, as it's free of side effects and can make a big difference!

I have this lamp at work and I'm already noticing a real difference to my mood and to my ability to make it through the afternoon without turning myself inside out with yawns. It is a bit dazzling for anyone who comes to talk to me but a little twist to the side soon solves that problem. I'm recommending it to everyone!

I do like this lamp. I use it in the morning whilst having breakfast and have noticed an effect on my mood. I also find it really useful to do model making under as the light is clean and bright and well diffused. The only issue was the original diffuser which cracked too easily. The new replacement seems far better.

At this time of year I would never survive without my box. Just bought a portable one so I always have access to LIGHT. I use mine every day at the side of my computer and just try to organise meetings for later in the day. It works for me

I can't remember how long I've had mine, but I don't want to be without it. I work in a windowless basement, and I've been in my job 25 years. It adds excellent supplementary lighting and has made a great difference to my general mood. It is portable and only takes a small corner of my desk. Only downside might be if you share an office, as it can be dazzling to anyone else talking to you! My colleague is getting one soon.

Really great in terms of look and feel and I definitely feel an improvement in mood from daily use. My only problem is that the flimsy plastic screen that acts as a diffuser has become slightly brittle and cracked along one edge. the lamp may be on for an hour or so at a time.

We bought this product a little unsure as to the likely effects light therapy would have. In fact it sounded a little far fetched for light to have any effect on mood or energy. BUT, I have to say the light box makes such a massive difference. When using it during darker days it genuinely makes me feel like it's a bright summer's day outside! I have more energy, I feel more positive and most importantly that feeling lasts even when I'm not sat in front of it. However, just to prove it actually is the light box that has the effect, I stopped using it for a couple of weeks last winter: BAD IDEA! Honestly, I cannot recommend this product enough to any SAD sufferers! Buy one!

I could not survive the winter without this fabulous product! It isn't the most attractive piece of kit but it works and I really notice the difference if i miss out on using it for a couple of days. I've recommended it to numerous people, all who sing its praises as much as I do! I'm also thinking of investing in a portable lightbox to help me when I'm working away too. If you suffer from the winter blues you really should think about investing in one, it seems expensive but the difference it makes is amazing! It has completely changed my view of winter!

I have an old product from the later 90's from when LUMIE was OUTSIDE IN. I decided to update with this more compact product to sit on my desk when I am working, and I am really pleased with it. Light therapy has been part of my winter routine for over 12 years- using this firm's products. This new product is compact and excellent BUT I still use my old clumsy lightbox in my bedroom when I am poorly (I am disabled- BPD, SAD, acute anxiety disorder & acute migraine). BUT YOU MUST remember to replace the light unit of your lightbox every two years or so or the effectiveness is reduced. AND it does not cost a lot to do so.

I've been more than satisfied with my Brightspark. I realised years ago that adequate light was very important to my wellbeing, but it took me a while to get around to deciding to invest in a SAD light. Wish I'd got one sooner really - it makes such a difference, particularly now as the clocks are going back and there is less light in the daytime. Excellent product, at a reasonable price.

I have had a Brightspark for a few years now. I really used to dread going into autumn, knowing that I wouldn't be able to even open my eyes before 8am and then struggle to get in to work on time, not to mention the feelings of hopelessness, and the tears. Fortunately, I read an article about SAD and realised that this was the root of my problems. Using Brightspark has really helped eleviate my symptoms, which is just as well as I have a different job now which does not have flexi-time and so I have to get up at 5.30am even in winter. This has been made possible by substituting Brightspark for my desk lamp at home. Thank you.

I bought my lightbox two years ago after noticing my depression got worse every autumn.
It has really helped me, the extra "daylight" (lightbox light) stops my mood dropping as drastically and improves it if I'm not doing so well.
My advice is to use it regularly as when I forget I notice that my mood drops.
I don't have SAD as far as I know, but I do have depression that gets worse when the days get shorter in the autumn and winter for some reason, so this has been a real help :D
I would definitely recommend it or another of the similar products.
It is also a neat size and shape and easy to position where you want it.

We bought this light for my husband a couple of years ago. Although he has pretty much permanent depression, more or less controlled through anti-depressants for the last 28 years, he has always felt far worse in winter. After regular use over the past couple of winters, his mood is much brighter, and he is out walking and gardening at weekends, instead of retreating into bed.
We needed replacement bulbs and a new screen, and they came next day after we placed the order.

Bought a brightspark for my girlfriend who suffers from SAD last autumn, and it was so good I'm now looking at buying a wake up light too. The light feels really natural and, even speaking as a person who doesn't suffer from SAD, makes you feel better and happier as soon as it's turned on!

This is the first lightbox I bought and having been at the end of my tether with a winter approaching I was amazed at the difference it made. After I'd started using it I didn't want to turn it off! The light is bright but doesn't dazzle and I can comfortably sit it next to my computer screen in the evenings and get down to the serious business of gaming without problems seeing the screen. It is also portable enough that I took it to work every day until I bought a zip.

As someone who struggles massively all mornings, but particularly in Winter, this really has made a difference - I sit it by my computer and can pretend I'm not in my dark Edinburgh flat. And, as something of a side bonus, it's excellent for lighting photographs (!) and it's sturdy, too - it survived the fall down the tenement stairs when I was moving far better than I did!
Not cheap, but reliable and effective.

I love the quality of light from this box, it perks me and the kids up on dark Scottish winter mornings, i think the look of it is sleek and quite unobtrusive, and it survived unscathed when my cat knocked it off a high worktop on to a wooden floor

I have one of these in my kitchen and love it, the house is really quite dark and the quality of this light is great. I do suffer from SAD and find that this light is great and perks me up both in the mornings and in the evenings when I am flagging somewhat.

My lightbox has literally changed my life. I'm still medicated for my SAD but it's less so than it used to be and it's like it returns my zip. I've got it set up next to my computer in the office and have it on while I'm sitting there - I work in quite a dark office as well, so it's invaluable at helping my mood lift. Lumie's customer service has been really excellent as well.

I've had my brightspark for about 3 years now, and honestly some of the best money I've spent. Minutes after turning the light on in the morning, you can feel the difference in emotions and how awake you feel! It's like being out in the sun - there are some things science can explain but there are other things it cannot! Get bright and happy!

I've had my Lumie light now for about two weeks, and I have to say I am starting to feel it making a difference, especially on the really bad weather days when natural daylight is almost non existant. My SAD used to be little more than a mild disorder in January and February, but as the summers have been so poor over the last few years I've noticed my SAD season both extending and worsening. It is a considered purchase, but I am glad now that I made the decision. It fits into my decor without being to 'obvious' and because it can stand upright or lie down it makes it easier if I want to move it to another room if needed. I've got into the routine of switching it on with the computer first thing in the morning and leave it on until lunchtime. It is lovely to have such brightness lighting up the room in the dark winter mornings.

I bought a Lumie sad light just after christmas and it has been brilliant. I mainly get the winter blues and using this lamp most days on dark mornings has really helped.
I felt I had more energy
I would definitely recommend this light for anyone suffering from sad as it is proven to help the production of seratonin which helps depression.

I took a bit of a gamble with this product. As I have depression already and I haven't been in British winters long enough for anyone to say that this dip in mood was a regular occurence (this is my second British winter), I haven't been diagnosed with SAD. I took the risk anyway (with a refurbished model- which, by the way, apart from a small tear on the box and stickers resealing it with a note saying it was refurbished by Lumie, I can't tell it's not new. The lightbox looks to be in perfect condition)
Since about October, I've been suffering from constant and debilitating depression (no ability to concentrate, dramatic drop in productivity, constantly groggy, sleeping badly, no energy or motivation or passion). I bought this light because literally nothing else was helping me, and I was desperate. It arrived on Wednesday evening (today being Saturday), so I actually haven't had it the 3-4 days yet. But I can already tell the difference. Heck, I could tell the difference 3-4 minutes after I turned it on. The fog lifted. I went from groggy, barely awake (needing caffeine sort of feeling but having had plenty already), to alert and bouncing with energy. I could (can- I have it on at the moment) feel pulses of energy running along my limbs like when I exercise (which I now have the energy to return to). Quite simply, I feel alive again, and a lot of people I associate with have commented that I look better than I've been in months. In fact, I don't think I've felt this good psychologically since I left Australia (I find the sun brighter in an Australian winter than in a British summer).
Apart from the therapeutic effects, it's also a really nice light. From a distance (outside the room where I have it set up, for example), it looks like bright sun is pouring in through the windows. It's a brilliant white light and good for reading (and doesn't detract when I'm using the computer). I can look directly into it but it's a touch bright for me to be able to do so comfortably (and I don't need to for the effect, it just needs to be on and shining nearby). It's a bit too big to be portable (I seriously considered the portable one but opted for this because it's 10000 lux), but it's not heavy, so you could move it around if you had to.
