Terms and conditions

All customer orders are subject to these terms and conditions. By placing an order with us you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions of sale. Lumie may change these terms and conditions of sale at any time by posting changes on this website, and without giving you notice. Please check the terms and conditions of sale on the Lumie website before placing any orders, as the terms and conditions of sale current at the time of your order will apply to your order.

 

Orders and payments

You can order the products:

By telephone: For the quickest possible service, please call us. We are open from 9.30am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday (Bank Holidays excluded).

Online: Visit our website www.lumie.com

By fax: You can fax us on 01954 780510. Complete the order form and fax it to us with a contact telephone number.

By post: Send your completed order to: FREEPOST Lumie, Bar Hill, Cambridge CB23 8UD, please include a contact telephone number.

In respect of email and fax orders, when we have received your order, we will send you confirmation of your order (by email, fax or telephone).

If you wish to claim VAT at zero rate on applicable products, the VAT office insists that we collect the appropriate VAT declaration, so please complete and sign the declaration (online, on the order form or when you receive your product). 

Our prices, delivery charges and the availability of stock are published on this website. The price and delivery charges payable are those in force at the time of your order. We may change our prices and charges from time to time. We will inform you if our actual prices and charges are different from those stated on your order form. If the prices and charges are higher than on your order form, you may cancel your order. If the prices and charges are lower than on your order form, we will charge you the lower prices and charges.

Lumie may refuse to accept or execute any order or request transmitted by you, without giving any reason.

We reserve the right to obtain validation of any credit or debit card details before accepting any order.

 

30-day Home Trial

Our 30-day Home Trial gives you the chance to try a product for yourself to make sure that what you've ordered is right for you.

All Home Trials

  • 30-day Home Trial is available in the UK only.
  • If at any time up to 30 days from the date of delivery you decide to return something, please contact us first.
  • If a unit is returned scratched or damaged we will tell you what the problem is and may have to charge for any repair at a cost of £20/hour plus materials. We will not charge for minor problems.
  • The unit should be returned in its original packing if possible.
  • This does not affect your statutory rights.

Bright lights  (applies to Arabica, Brightspark, Desklamp, Zip)

We will supply a pre-paid postage bag for you to use. As soon as we receive your light back we will refund all your money including any standard delivery charge. We do not refund costs for express delivery.

Bodyclock  (applies to all Bodyclock models)

It is your responsibility to pay for and return a Bodyclock - we recommend Recorded Delivery to be on the safe side. As soon as we receive it back we will refund your money less a £10 re-stocking fee. We do not refund costs for express delivery.  

Lumie Clear 

It is your responsibility to pay for and return Lumie Clear - we recommend Recorded Delivery to be on the safe side. As soon as we receive it back we will refund your money less a £20 refurbishment fee. We do not refund costs for express delivery.

Haylight 

It is your responsibility to pay for and return Haylight - we recommend Recorded Delivery to be on the safe side. As soon as we receive it back we will refund your money less a £10 admin fee. We do not refund costs for express delivery.  

Cancellation

By law, you also have a 'cooling-off' period, the right to cancel any purchase and receive a full refund by e-mailing or writing to us up to seven working days the day after you receive it. To return any item, please send it securely - the original packaging is best if you have it - to our usual address. Please note that you will be responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us. 

 

Delivery of products, title and risk

Orders are usually despatched within 2-3 working days after we have received your completed order. Within the UK, we shall endeavour to deliver within 21 days otherwise, we will let you know when to expect delivery. If you need delivery by a certain date, please let us know or call us for the latest stock position. For delivery outside the UK, please phone or visit www.lumie.com.

Risk in the product passes to you on delivery, however, title and ownership of the product shall not pass to you until it has been paid for in full.

 

Product warranties

Lumie warrants that the products to be supplied pursuant to your order shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the respective periods set out below (Warranty Period):

1. All light boxes including Arabica, Zip, Brightspark and Desklamp models - 3 years ; bulbs - 1 year
2. All Bodyclock models - 2 years
3. Clear - 2 years
4. Haylight - 1 year
5. Batteries - 12 weeks

During the specified Warranty Period, Lumie will repair or replace (with either new or factory reconditioned products) any defective product. Lumie shall inspect the returned product and Lumie’s decision on whether the product is faulty or defective shall be final.

The warranty above is subject to the following exceptions:

1. it does not apply to any product

a) which has been installed, altered, repaired, opened or has had its warranty seal broken by persons not approved by Lumie;
b) whose serial number has been altered, defaced or removed;
c) which has been subjected to conditions outside the product’s specified tolerances published by Lumie or which in Lumie’s reasonable opinion has been the subject of unusual or unrecommended physical, environmental or electrical stress or abuse by a person other than Lumie;

2. it does not cover damage or loss occurring during transportation;
3. it does not cover the cost of expendable components (including, but not limited to, accessories or rechargeable batteries).

You are responsible for returning the faulty products to Lumie at Lumie’s address (unless otherwise notified by Lumie to you). Freight and insurance shall be prepaid by you and Lumie accepts no risk in respect of products which are being returned.

The warranty is in addition to any non-excludable warranties implied into these terms and conditions of sale by Act of Parliament.

Lumie has no liability (including liability in negligence) to you or any other person for any loss or damage (consequential or otherwise) however suffered or incurred in relation to the Products or caused by or resulting directly or indirectly from the Products or from any failure, breakdown, defect or deficiency of any nature in the Products.

 

Data protection and privacy

Lumie respects and safeguards all personal information of our customers. The data from your order may be stored and used for customer care and to process orders. We will not pass on your data to third parties other than required by law to government or regulatory bodies.

From time to time, we may contact you with information regarding new products, special offers, events etc. Please let us know if you do not wish to receive such information.

 

Errors and omissions

We try to ensure that any information and material on this website is accurate, but we accept no liability for any loss or damage caused by inaccurate information. If you find any inaccurate or incomplete information, please let us know.

  

General

These terms and conditions of sale are governed by the laws of England and Wales and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales and agree that any lawsuit must be heard in those courts.

If any provision of these terms and conditions of sale is held to be unenforceable, illegal or invalid, those provisions will not affect the balance of these terms and conditions.
